To explain the strategic and financial benefits to Huntingdonshire District Council, Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council in creating a Building Control shared service and a timetable for implementation.
To provide a detailed financial model to demonstrate how savings will be achieved against the starting budget and the cost benefit apportionment between the three Authorities.
Approves the Business Case and delegate authority to the Managing Director, in conjunction with the Executive Councillor for Strategic Planning and Housing, to make decisions and to take steps that are necessary, conducive or incidental to the establishment of the Building Control shared service in accordance with the detailed business case
To approve the Business Case to establish a Building Control shared service between the three Councils as there are strategic, commercial and environmental reasons for the recommendation to create the shared service.

Once the Building Control shared service is established staff will transfer from Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council to Cambridge City Council which is currently planned to be on 1 October 2015. All financial assumptions are established in the Business Case.
