    Councillor J M Sadler, Chairman of the Licensing Committee, to present a report by the Head of Democratic and Central Services proposing the adoption by the Council of the Statement of Licensing Principles under the Gambling Act 2005.

    Minutes:

    Further to Minute No. 35 and by reference to a report by the Head of Democratic and Central Services (a copy of which is appended in the Minute Book), Councillor J D Sadler, Chairman of the Licensing Committee, reminded Members that the Council had been consulting the public, various public authorities and those involved in the gambling industry on a new Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005 to come into effect on 31st January 2010.

     

    RESOLVED

     

      that the Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005 as appended to the report now submitted be approved to come into effect on 31st January 2010 for a period of three years’ duration.

    Decision:

    Recommended the Statement of Principles under the Gambling Act 2005 to full Council for approval to come into effect from the 31st January 2010 for a period of three years.

    Minutes:

    Further to Minute No. 117/06 and with the assistance of a report by the Head of Democratic and Central Services (a copy of which is appended in the Minute Book) the Cabinet were invited to consider the content of a revised Statement of Principles under the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005.  Having noted that the statement had been updated to take into account the latest regulations and guidance issued by the Gambling Commission, the Cabinet

     

    RESOLVED

      that the Council be recommended to approve the Statement of Principles appended to the report now submitted with effect from the 31st January 2010 for a period of three years.

    Minutes:

    Consideration was given to a report by the Head of Democratic and Central Services (a copy of which is appended in the Minute Book) to which was attached a draft Statement of Principles under the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005, which had been revised and updated to take into account the latest regulations and guidance issued by the Gambling Commission.

     

    Having regard to the timetable for public consultation and the likelihood that this was unlikely to generate significant comment, it was

     

    RESOLVED

     

    (a)   that the Head of Democratic and Central Services be authorised, after consultation with the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Committee to make any amendments to the statement that are considered necessary as a result of a comments received from the public consultation exercise; and

    (b)  that the Cabinet and Council be invited to approve the statement of principles under the Gambling Act 2005 to come into effect on 31st January 2010 for a period of three years.
