Periodic Electoral Review of Cambridgeshire: Final Recommendations To consider a report by the Director of Central Services on final recommendations arising from the Periodic Electoral Review of Cambridgeshire. Contact: Mrs L Jablonska 388004 Additional documents: Minutes: Further to Minute No. 03/12, the Panel considered a report by the Director of Central Services (a copy of which is appended in the Minute Book) together with a copy of the final recommendations published by the Boundary Committee for England with regard to a periodic review of electoral arrangements for the County Council of Cambridgeshire.
The Panel were advised that the Committee had endorsed their draft recommendations as final, incorporating the District Council’s proposal for Huntingdonshire, with the exception of a proposed amendment to the St. Neots Town area.
Having been acquainted with the views of Councillors R L Clarke, N J Finnie, D A Giles, A Hansard and Mrs P J Longford, the Panel expressed a preference for the Committee’s proposal for St. Neots, whereby the boundary for the two divisions in the town should run north to south along the River Ouse rather than east to west as per their draft proposals. Whereupon, the Panel
RESOLVED
that the final recommendations published by the Boundary Committee for changes to the electoral divisions in Cambridgeshire be endorsed. |

To receive a report by the Director of Central Services on the revised recommendations published by the Boundary Commission for parliamentary constituency boundaries in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Contact: Mrs L Jablonska 388004 Additional documents: Minutes: Further to Minute No. 02/10, the Panel considered a report by the Director of Central Services (a copy of which is appended in the Minute Book) outlining revised recommendations published by the Boundary Commission for England in connection with the review of the parliamentary constituencies in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
The Panel were advised that following the public inquiry in February 2004, the Commission had adopted the Assistant Commissioner’s recommendations in respect of Huntingdonshire and were proposing no further changes to the constituencies of Huntingdon and North-West Cambridgeshire. Whereupon, the Panel
RESOLVED
that the final recommendations published by the Boundary Commission for changes to existing parliamentary constituencies of Huntingdon and North-West Cambridgeshire be noted. |
