Agreed to defer consideration of the Governance Protocol with Cambridgeshire Constabulary (Central Division) regarding the deployment of 18 new Community Police Support Officers pending discussions with the joint steering group on the following issues identified by the Overview and Scrutiny Panels:
¨ . the inclusion of traffic management enforcement and road safety education as one of the five objectives of the PCSO’s in the Governance Protocol;
¨ Communications links;
¨ the implications for the Council’s Medium Term Plan; and
¨ the level of financial support provided by the Council compared with other authorities in the County.
Noted the contents of the Report.
Authorised the Chief Executive after consultation with the Leader of the Council and the Executive Member with responsibility for the Environment to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Constabulary and the District Council. The Memorandum of Understanding to be negotiated with the Constabulary.
